Rowena Henebery

Registered Psychologist

With a background as a secondary school teacher, Rowena is now a registered Psychologist with around 10 years’ experience working predominantly with adults, as well as adolescents in their mid-late teens. Rowena has extensive experience working with clients experiencing a wide array of psychological issues including depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress disorder and personality disorders. She can also help people to address relationship problems, interpersonal difficulties, learning difficulties, substance abuse, parenting issues, or to manage the effects of a chronic illness.

Rowena generally works within a solution-focused cognitive behavioural framework, however, she also incorporates elements of other therapeutic approaches depending on the needs of each client. Some of these approaches include Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT), Schema Therapy and Interpersonal Therapy.

 

Rowena is committed to ongoing professional development and to the use of evidence-based psychological assessment and interventions in her pursuit of successful client outcomes. She is registered with the Allied Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA), is a member of the Australian Psychological Society (APS) and is a registered provider of psychological services with Medicare, TAC, WorkSafe, DVA and selected private health funds.

 

Medicare rebates are available with a referral from your general practitioner.  Your private health insurer may also provide rebates for psychology.
